My dad is … let’s go with the title, a product research guru. Before buying a product, every brand and its product is researched and compared. The list is shortened and the brands that made the shortlist are observed under a fine microscope. Next, it’s going for the best possible price. Physical stores and online sites are compared, checked and double checked. It’s dad thing and he’s good at it. I had never personally bought from Appliances Online before, but my parents fridge and several other appliances have been ordered through the site. So if dad’s bought from them a few times over, they’re doing it right.
On Thursday I joined the following bloggers to celebrate Appliances Online 8th birthday at Cupid’s Delight:
Where’s My Glow – Trae, Parental parody – Georgia, My Life in Mono – Feli, Gastronomy – Monica, Yellow Dandy – Karen, Secret Cake Club – Barb, Take me to foodie heaven – Melanie, Little Bento Blog – Yvette, Hungry Again Perth – Sandy, Why yes I do eat constantly – Vivian, Food4Thought – Fiona, Teapots and Tractors – Annaleis, Life of Pia – Pia, Little Bit of Thyme – Tash and Dine Whit Me – Whitney,
We were going to learn how to decorate cakes! But not just any cakes… We were divided up into four teams to decorate one of the following appliance cakes.
We kneaded, painted, molded… and ate cupcakes. As you do. Quite frankly it was just fun hanging out with other bloggers, and getting to do what we love.
The final part of the cake decorating class was to make a fondant santa. I’m glad I took photos before I left the class, since, with the heat in the car, by the time we got home, he looked like he had had one too many…
Finally the class came to an end. We were given these cute cupcakes (salted caramel chocolate) from Cupid’s Delight.
When we had first walked in, I just assumed all the decorative boxes were those pretty display boxes for presentation. Nope! They were pressies for us.
The Breville Juice Fountain Plus Juicer I gracefully elephant trampled the other bloggers for. It’s been on my wishlist for a while but unfortunately there’s always been other necessary things to buy. I have since been in juice heaven. (Note for people who are actually looking to buy this: 2 thumbs way up. I hate hate hate washing up, but all the pieces that need to be washed? Are dishwasher friendly. whew.)
Huge thanks to Appliances Online, Cupid’s Delight as well as Breville, Sunbeam, Morphy Richards and Tefal for supplying us with goodies. It was an incredible event and I walked away with plenty of handy cake decorating tips.
